Roll up, Roll up, step right up … ok that’s enough of that circus nonsense.
So, yes, this is another comedy review site (like Chortle… only less professional, exhaustive or well written) but these are just our opinions so hardly deserve gospel status.
I have been watching live comedy for around 15 years and I have to say that I 100% admire anyone who has the guts to take to a spot lit stage in front of an unknown crowd armed with just a microphone and their wits. It’s a profession that I know I could not do and for that I doff my tiny bowler hat to them.
That being said this doesn’t mean that anyone who has the guts to take that stage actually has the clown talent to justify staying on it.
So far we have always been very lucky with the show recommendations that our friends and colleagues make and rarely have we had to sit through a truly terrible performance (apart from this one). And so, with a positive outlook -and a need for drinks and laughter- we offer up our 2 cents
Welcome to our big top, bring on the clowns!
P.S. And yes I have completely nicked the idea of calling comedians ‘clowns’ from Andrew Maxwell, but in this case imitation really is a form of flattery – no plagiarism was intended.
